Research Interests

Using a number of potent cytotoxins, including ricin and Shiga-like toxin 1, the group has several main areas of research concerning:

  • how these proteins enter mammalian cells

  • the steps involved in membrane traversal of the catalytic subunits that enables them to reach the cytosol

  • the refolding of toxin and inactivation of ribosomes

  • the global response of cells to toxin treatments
