This page summarises key study outputs.

Publications:

The GPNET-0 Study protocol, 'Supporting the drive for net zero by decarbonising general practice- A longitudinal study protocol' has been published in NIHR Open. Additionally, the systematic review protocol, 'Implementation of decarbonisation actions in general practice: a systematic review and narrative synthesis protocol', has been published in BMJ Open. Finally, the study's two principal co-investigators have published an editorial in BJGP.

Other study papers have been submitted to publication and are under review:

A paper describing the WP2 workshop intervention, entitled 'Supporting general practices to develop Green Action Plans to reduce carbon emissions: development and evaluation of a workshop-based intervention' is under review in Primary Health Care Research and Development. Two WP3, patient-related papers, entitled 'Engaging patients in the decarbonisation of primary care: findings from a cross-sectional survey in England' and 'Patient perspectives regarding decarbonisation in general practice: a qualitative interview study' have been submitted to Journal of Health Services Research and Policy and International Journal for Quality in Health Care respectively. Finally, a paper based on the development and outcomes of the second knowledge mobilisation workshop, entitled 'Environmentally sustainable primary care: systemic barriers, enablers and co-produced solutions for a net zero NHS' is under review in Health Services Insights.

Policy Briefs and Factsheets:

The GPNET-0 Study team have produced two issues of a policy brief and factsheet, drawing on initial findings from study work.

General practice video:

This video, aimed at general practice staff, introduces the importance of decarbonising primary care in the context of the NHS net zero ambition, providing resources and ideas on how this can be achieved in your own practice.

This video was initially developed for WP2.2 and played to our 12 case study practices to support the development of their green action plans.

The GPNET-0 Study has a bi-monthly newsletter, updating on study progress, introducing a member of the research team, and sharing links and resources to other updates in the field of sustainable primary care.
