Activity 10:

Think about these questions, especially about how you have developed as a teacher so far and how you can maintain your teaching skills:

Faculty Development Strategy

There is a strategy for planning when faculty should undertake a minimum of training:

At the start of a WMS teaching role we expect you to:

  • Attend the relevant induction
  • Provide evidence of training relevant to teaching activities undertaken
  • Complete NHS/Trust equality and diversity training
  • Look out for the Working and Teaching with Active Racial Awareness programme that will be rolled out during 2020/21

On an on-going basis we expect you to attend:

  • CPD for teaching
  • Equality and diversity training updates

We run updates and teaching on specific topics of relevance to all WMS faculty - find details here.Link opens in a new window

Evidencing your Teaching

Why do you need to provide evidence of your teaching?

  1. For WMS: The GMC ask us to report on teachers’ training for their teaching role(s) - Trusts collect this information for us.
  2. For your Appraisal (whole practice) and annual review/revalidation
  3. GMC Trainer RecognitionLink opens in a new window
