CSDA Seminar: Will Feline

- Export as iCalendar
Location: Virtual (Teams)

Will Feline from the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (UK) will be delivering a virtual seminar to the CSDA.

Title: "Dstl Space Domain Awareness Activities"

Abstract: Space Domain Awareness (SDA) is critical for many aspects of military missions, both in terms of protecting freedom of action of land/sea/air forces, and for protection of space-based capabilities themselves. It is also important for civil applications such as licence compliance for UK-registered satellites. Historically, UK SDA has been largely been provided by the US military. In recent years the UK has started developing sovereign SDA capabilities to reduce our reliance on the US, to provide niche SDA capabilities not otherwise routinely available, and to help burden-share with our US colleagues. This presentation will provide an overview of current and future SDA activities undertaken by the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) in support of UK Space Command, focusing in particular on activities undertaken in collaboration with the University of Warwick’s Centre for Space Domain Awareness.
