Overview

Our world is becoming ever more dependent upon the relationship between people, the environment, and digital systems. Our evolving use of web and mobile communication devices is obvious. Less noticeable are the digital systems in vehicles, infrastructure, industry, finance, agriculture, and medicine. These all reside in the cyber domain and all need securing.

By studying Cyber Security at Warwick you will deepen your knowledge of this multifaceted cyberspace. You’ll understand the nature of this evolving cyber environment, and how to protect and enhance the human experience within it.

On this MSc, you will develop your ability to think and act coherently in cyberspace. You'll focus on the technical aspects of cyber security and how these may be implemented in a multidisciplinary way. The course is a broad fusion of practical application and theoretical abstraction. You should expect to be using your deep understanding to solve realistic cyber security problems.

Meet the Course Director: Dr Hany Atlam

Dr. Hany Atlam, Assistant Professor in Cyber Security, is an experienced teacher and highly cited researcher with over 15 years of experience in prestigious higher education institutions. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Stanford-Elsevier recognised him as one of the top 2% of scientists worldwide for three consecutive years (2022-2024). With 50+ publications in high-quality venues (h-index 26), he collaborates with industry to enhance student employability and secure impactful funding.

Scholarships and Bursaries

WMG will be awarding over £1.5 million in scholarships and bursaries to students commencing study on any of our full-time MSc programmes beginning in September 2025.
