English and Comparative Literary Studies celebrate awards and ranking success

One of the world’s leading English literature departments is celebrating awards, nominations, and grant success—and has once more secured a top 20 world ranking.

English and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick has been ranked 20th in the world for English Literature in the 2019 QS Subject Rankings, the third year in a row the department has achieved a top 20 ranking. The department was previously ranked 1st in REF2014.


University of Warwick research impact success recognised with continued funding from ESRC

The University of Warwick is one of 26 UK universities receiving funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for its Impact Acceleration Account (IAA). The funding award was announced today [31] by the ESRC and followed a competitive, peer-reviewed process.

 


Warwick students recognised as leaders in social mobility

Four Warwick students have been recognised as champions of social mobility at the inaugural Student Social Mobility Awards, hosted by Baroness Helena Kennedy in the House of Lords on December 13. The Awards were organised by upReach, supported by the Social Mobility Commission, to showcase the achievements of students and 2018 graduates from less advantaged backgrounds.


Warwick Social Sciences rated among the 100 best in the world

The University of Warwick has been ranked among the best universities in the world for politics and international studies and sociology, business and economics, education and law, according to the Times Higher Education’s 2019 World Reputation Rankings released this week. Warwick is one of just 7 UK universities to be listed in the top 100 in all four subject groups and scored particularly highly for business and economics, placing 33rd in the world.


Will Eaves nominated for Goldsmiths Prize 2018

Will Eaves, an Associate Professor from the University of Warwick’s Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies, has been nominated for the Goldsmiths Prize 2018 for his novel Murmur.

£2m funding award recognises the Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy as a UK centre of research excellence

The Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy (CAGE), based in the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick, has been awarded £2.09 million to continue its pioneering social science research for another five years.
