I promised to come back to you soon to tell you about even more about the work of many more of our dedicated staff and students I these challenging times and today I am keeping that promise. Here many more ways in which our students and staff are helping from ventilators, visors, and volunteering to helping produce more COVID-19 testing ,and providing online computing experiments for primary school children now learning at home. In many cases we can’t name the individuals as we want to leave them in peace to get on with their work but where we can they are named below. Once again I want to give my personal thanks to each and every one of them – they are all inspiring people that are helping us all in these difficult times.” |

Local residents entertained, challenged and moved by ESRC Festival of Social Science
More than 500 people took part in the workshops, talks and activities organised by the University of Warwick for this year’s ESRC Festival of Social Science. University researchers took to Coventry and Warwickshire’s streets, bars and community centres to share insights from their work with enthusiastic and interested audiences. The events tackled topics from the nature of time itself and the puzzle of DNA to taxes and accents.
Warwick in Africa education programme comes to Kenya thanks to COSARAF foundation
The University of Warwick will be able to bring its successful education programme, Warwick in Africa, to Kenya for the first time thanks to the support of the COSARAF Foundation.
Warwick students recognised as leaders in social mobility
Four Warwick students have been recognised as champions of social mobility at the inaugural Student Social Mobility Awards, hosted by Baroness Helena Kennedy in the House of Lords on December 13. The Awards were organised by upReach, supported by the Social Mobility Commission, to showcase the achievements of students and 2018 graduates from less advantaged backgrounds.
