“The future of women in STEM is bright but not secure”: Warwick climate scientist

Inside the eventWomen trailblazers of the 2Tone and ska post-punk music scene of the late 1970s are being celebrated in an evening of film screenings and lively discussion at Coventry Cathedral later this month. The free event is running as part of Resonate Festival, a year-long themed programme of public conversations, talks, exhibitions, film festivals, walking tours, debates and a family festival day organised by The University of Warwick, a principal partner in Coventry UK City of Culture 2021.

World Population Day: The research at Warwick making gender a mainstream consideration in the analysis of development

This year's UN World Population Day (11 July) theme is gender equality. The Warwick Interdisciplinary Centre for International Development (WICID) seeks to make gender a mainstream consideration in the analyses of development issues today.

UK study will evaluate the particular pressures of COVID-19 on working-class women

The impact of COVID-19 on working-class women in the UK will be explored by a team of researchers from the University of Warwick, the University of Nottingham and the Women’s Business Group in a new year-long study funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, part of UKRI.


International Conference of Women in Engineering postponed until 2021

It was announced in May last year (2019) that the University of Warwick has won the bid to plan, organise and host the 18th International Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists (ICWES18) for September 2020, however due to the current COViD-19 pandemic the event has been pushed back to 2021.

The conference was previously held at Warwick (ICWES9) in 1991, ICWES18 will now return to Warwick on 1-4 September 2021.
