During the TeamWork program I have improved my organisational and leadership abilities. I attribute this largely to the expectation for participants to work on our own initiative and delegate work based on our personal strengths and interests within subgroups. The leadership aspect came towards the end of the process when, despite not being assigned as lead meeting coordinator or communicator by our group mentor, I made it my responsibility to check all team members were committed to delivering their contributions. Resultantly, I ensured the group continued to work on and eventually complete our presentation.
TeamWork has greatly improved my ability to function effectively in a digital working environment. Specifically, I am now equipped to overcome the lack of engagement and consistent contribution which has plagued me in the past and at the beginning of this programme when trying to work in a digital environment. I now understand how to motivate myself to deliver these things but have also learnt how to overcome barriers such as different time zones of team members to maintain regular meetings and collaboration.
Thank you to the organisers of TeamWork as the programme has provided me with tangible personal growth and new understanding of a range of organisational processes needed to contribute effectively in any workplace. For this I am very grateful.
