Thank you for registering with the University Counselling Service.
What to do now:
If you have registered for face-to-face individual counselling, you now need to arrange your appointment using the call to book system.
After you've arranged your appointment, we will send you and an email confirming the details of your appointment and some tips on how to prepare to get the most out of your counselling session.
If we haven't heard from you after a couple of weeks after your registration, we'll email to remind you to call-to-book. If we still don’t hear from you after three weeks (approximately) from when you registered, we'll assume you no longer wish to proceed with counselling and we will let you know we are closing your registration (you can re-register anytime in the future if you wish).
If you registered for email counselling, you can write your first email.
You can now submit your first email straight away, or any time that suits you, in which you may like to outline your concerns (up to 500 words).
Send your email to: firstname.lastname@example.org. If you submit your email before 10.00am on Thursday, you will receive your email reply on that Thursday (if you submit after 10.00am you may receive your email reply the following Thursday). However, please note that over the summer vacation period our service availability will be slightly reduced. Therefore, you may receive replies less frequently than usual. However, once you write in to us, you will receive an email within a week to update you on when to expect your reply.
If you have registered your interest in group therapy, you can now book your pre-group meeting appointment.
You can either telephone 02476 523761 (or call in person to Westwood House) at a time that is convenient for you between 8.30am and 5pm (or to 8.30am to 8pm Tuesdays and Thursdays in term time) and speak to the Administrator, who will be able to arrange a suitable date and time for your pre-group meeting appointment.
Please have details of your availability to hand (such as your timetable or schedule) so you can be sure when you are free or we will contact you by e-mail with a date and time. This usually involves a meeting of 30-50 minutes discussion with a group facilitator to ensure that the group is appropriate to your needs. There is no commitment to join a group at this stage.
