Emerald Insight: 403 Bad Request error

Solution

The video below will guide users through the solution.

If the above suggestion does not work then please follow the below guidance for known workarounds

1. Use the general Emerald record

You can use the main Emerald record from the Classic Catalogue or Library Search. Once you have accessed the Emerald Insight platform, just ensure that you have successfully authenticated by checking the welcome status on the top left of the page. It should indicate that you are a University of Warwick user.

From here you can search Emerald for the resources that you had difficulties with accessing. Any PDFs and ePubs will then be able to be downloaded.

To ensure that only University of Warwick accessible material appears in the search results, you can filter these in the advanced search and select "only content that I have access to" from the drop-down menu.

2. Use Microsoft Internet Explorer & older versions of Microsoft Edge (Blue "e" Icon)

Using Microsoft Internet Explorer and legacy versions of Microsoft Edge (Blue "e" icon ) seem to allow a second attempt to authenticate, and therefore giving access to the PDFs and ePubs.
