Library Search Links error message "Header too large"

The "request header is too large" error (HTTP 400) means your browser sent too much data in its request to the server, usually due to an excessive number of cookies or a very long URL/referrer, exceeding server limits, and requires you to clear your cookies, try an incognito window, or check for large browser extensions.

Please try the following to resolve the issue:

Clear Cookies & Cache: This is the most common fix, as cookies build up over time and become too large.

Use an Incognito/Private Window: This starts a fresh session without existing cookies or extensions.

Disable Browser Extensions: Ad-blockers or other extensions can add large headers.

Try a Different Browser: This helps isolate if the issue is browser-specific.

Another reasons could be issues with the original link. If the referral link is a very long link, this can cause the header to be too large. Try to access the resource from our classic catalogue or from the site directly.

Or if the issue is with the catalogue link then please provide us with a link to the catalogue record and then we can investigate.

library@warwick.ac.uk

Alternatively, access can be made through the Classic Catalogue or if known, users can navigate to the eResource platform to authenticate directly.

The Supplier has been contacted and is working with us to resolve the issue.

We are very sorry about any issues you have experienced with accessing material. We hope to get the matter resolved soon.
