100th dataset in WRAP
We are pleased to be celebrating a significant milestone with the recent creation of the 100th research dataset record in the Warwick Research Archive Portal (WRAP)!
The 100th research dataset was contributed by Dr Paul Goddard of the Department Physics and showcases the data supporting his recent publication in Physical Review B. Dr Goddard has also produced a useful readme file to explain the nature of files to be found in the dataset, both of which can be downloaded from WRAP.
Interest in the WRAP datasets has been growing over the past year and we have seen over 4,000 downloads of WRAP data in the past 12 months, several of which have been downloaded over 300 times each. This highlights the changing face of how we approach research, including data reuse, and how the ability to validate results is at the core of research.
WRAP provides a safe haven for research data underpinning projects and publications, making the data available with a persistent, citable URL. This can be used to link to your data from a Data Statement in an associated publication, in line with the needs of a growing number of research funders and publications. Many of whom now require related research data to be openly available in institutional or specialist, discipline specific data repositories. Our institutional repository, WRAP, welcomes research datasets of all varieties.
