This information is for students applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSAs) for the first time in respect of an academic year beginning on or after 1 September 2015. If you are recommended and agreed a computer via DSAs you will be required to pay £200 towards the purchase. Student Finance England will outline the contribution you are required to make in your DSA2 agreement letter.

If you are unable to meet the £200 contribution from your own funds the University can offer three levels of support to current students. Applicants can only apply for the above after they have enrolled on their course :

• Level 1 – if you are a full-time Home undergraduate student in receipt of a Warwick BursaryLink opens in a new window or a part time Home undergraduate student in receipt of a Fee Waiver we will be able to cover your £200 contribution as an award which you will not have to repay.
• Level 2 - if you are a full time or part time Home postgraduate student in receipt of a means-tested benefit we will be able to cover your £200 contribution as an award which you will not have to repay. We will require current evidence of one of the following qualifying benefits: Income Support, Income based Job Seekers' Allowance, Income related Employment and Suppport Allowance, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Working Tax Credit, Pension Credit, Universal Credit.
• Level 3 – if you have been assessed by Student Finance England and are eligible for DSAs and you do not meet the criteria for level 1 or 2 support you can apply to the Warwick Hardship Fund (WHF)Link opens in a new window for a means tested assessment to determine whether you are eligible for any support towards the £200 contribution.

What help can I expect to receive?

If you are unable to meet the £200 contribution at the outset and have applied for one of the above levels of support, please forward a copy of the IT supplier’s invoice for your contribution to disability@warwick.ac.uk. The University will then pay the £200 on your behalf and a charge for £200 will be transferred onto your University Student Finance account with a repayment date of the end of the academic year. If you are unable to repay the charge by the agreed date, please contact the Student Finance Office for advice before the repayment date. Failure to do this may result in your debt being referred to the University's credit control team for further action as appropriate.

If your application is successful we will offer you support up to £200. If the University paid the £200 contribution on your behalf, any award will be credited directly onto your University Student Finance account towards the outstanding charge. If you paid the £200 yourself, any award will be paid directly to you.
