Canley

Within walking distance from the university, this residential area offers students a mix of student homes and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSAs) to live in.

One of the standout features of Canley is the proximity to campus, with many students choosing to walk or cycle to lectures. The nearby Cannon Park Shopping Centre (a 5-10 minute walk from campus) offers convenience with major and independent chain stores, making it easy to manage your day-to-day essentials. Canley is well-suited for students who would like the independence of living off-campus whilst still staying firmly connected to campus life.

Tile Hill

Tile Hill, a residential area adjacent to Canley, offers students a suburban lifestyle. The area has a mix of student homes, ideal for those seeking a quieter place to live while still being close to campus.

Tile Hill also has parks and green spaces, making it great for walks and outdoor activities. It also offers convenient access to local shops and amenities for everyday needs.

Canley Railway Station and Tile Hill Railway Station are the main train transport links in the area. They run frequent trains to:

Libraries

Canley and Tile Hill are very close to the University, with most students opting to use the campus-based library.

Some students also find it helpful to use other local libraries, such as the University of Coventry Library. You can get access to this through SCONUL, a University library scheme that Warwick is also a part of. To find out more you can check out the library webpage, or head to the SCONUL Access website to sign up.

If you're looking for local libraries there is one located in each of Canley and Tile Hill Libraries, but please be mindful when using these. Or you can opt for something more city-central. All local libraries are free to use, both for resources and space- you may just need to register with them.

UK grocery shops

Canley is closest served by Cannon Park, which contains a Tesco and an Iceland, with a nearby ALDI as well. Not far, Tile Hill is catered to by Sainsbury's Superstore and Costco.

There are also some local shops near Charter Avenue that may cater to your needs, and for Tile Hill there are some stores around Jardine Cresent.

Cultural shops Pharmacies and health

Shopping centres and malls Sports and exercise

There are a lot of opportunities to get involved with sports and exercise, the Xcel Leisure Centre offers a gym, fitness classes, swimming, a sports hall, and their own pitches.

Don't forget to check out other group activities, such as park runs.

Alternatively, there are plenty of gyms to get involved with however, a lot of students opt for the University's own Sports and Wellness hub, as the University is so close.

A lot of students use campus facilities such as the Student Cinema screenings and Warwick Arts Centre cinema. For those with a musical side, you can try the local Samba band or try and catch the Warwick Music Theater Society performances.
