Wild Warwick - Competition
Our campus is home to a huge variety of wildlife and green spaces, yet many do not know that they exist, and we want to change this! We want to encourage people to get outside, to take a break from work/studying, and to learn more about their local environment. We are welcoming artistic submissions for the Wild Warwick competition, which celebrate wildlife on campus. This can be photography, poetry, pottery or any other form of art. The competition closes on December 2nd 2024. Winning submissions will be showcased at an exhibition in January 2025.
Coppicing
Coppicing
Coppicing is an ancient form of woodland management which increases biodiversity. This session is led by the Grounds and Gardens Team, and involves taking part in coppicing behind the Sports and Wellness Hub. Please note - this is a physically demanding task. There will be two sessions taking place - each lasting for 1.5 hours.
Be a Hedgerow Hero
We are supporting CPRE Warwickshire to plant new hedgerows to help counter the effects of climate change and aid wildlife. This is a full day event off campus, minibus transport is provided. This will be a great opportunity to learn a new skill, and it also contributes to the Warwick Award, book your place today!
Biodiversity Walk - birds
Get into the Christmas spirit and come with us to search for calling birds on our beautiful campus! This activity contributes to the Warwick Award.
