BA (Hons) Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship
Across four years with this part-time undergraduate programme, we’ll prepare you thoroughly for a demanding, yet very rewarding career in counselling.
You’ll acquire an in-depth grounding in the principles and practice of Counselling and Psychotherapy, learning about different therapeutic approaches and developing a holistic and flexible way of working with a range of clients, alongside shaping your own personal development. Indeed, learning about yourself is a key element of this programme: by understanding your own limits and attitudes, you can ensure they do not interfere with your practice.
We are confident this degree will achieve accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), once the degree has been taught through once. We have over 20 years experience in delivering BACP-accredited programmes, and as a University, we are consistently ranked in the top 10 of league tables.
Hear from our students
“It's been a real help finding this course, now I am coming in with some real-life experiences and meeting people at different stages of their lives. It's a really mixed bag in terms of students, diverse backgrounds, ages, and life experiences. This adds to the richness of the course. I am also joining a university that is just brilliant in terms of league tables.”
