Entente Cordiale Scholarship awarded to Matt Jackson
The Department wishes to congratulate Matthew Jackson (PhD student being supervised by Beat Kumin and Penny Roberts on the comparative drinking cultures of Bristol and Bordeaux) for the award of a prestigious Entente Cordiale scholarship by the French Embassy which pays for him to undertake an extended period of study in France during the academic year 2012-13. This is a great accomplishment in a very competitive field and involving a demanding interview in French at the Embassy, so well done Matt!
Orla Mulrooney - Arts Faculty Research Poster Winner
Congratulations to Orla Mulrooney (PhD Student in the Centre for the History of Medicine) on winning the Warwick Postgraduate Research Poster Competition (Arts Faculty) linked to her research topic, "History of Medical Tourism c1976-2012". Orla will now go through to the Midlands Hub Regional Final on 12 July 2012 and we wish her all the best of luck.
