Professor Debra Roter, is an international expert in health communication research from the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University. She is the developer of the influential Roter Interaction Analysis System (RIAS), which has been used in over 150 studies world-wide.
The seminar will explore dialogue sequence and turn taking from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives; and a new approach to conceptualising and interpreting the structure of medical dialogue.
There are opportunities for a limited number of one-to-one meetings with Professor Roter after the seminar (1:30pm to 3:00pm), but you need to book early.
