Your Feedback

It was pleasing to see that your feedback was generally very positive and that you had enjoyed the module. Most of you gave an overall satisfaction rating of 4 or 5 out of 5, with a smattering of 3s and only one 2 (and that person gave the individual components either 4 or 5, so may not have meant it!).

You most liked the engagement with primary sources which is such a feature of the module; seminar discussions, which you generally found inclusive and interesting; and help from, and the enthusiasm of, tutors.

Religion was something of a marmite topic – some of you loved it but it was not to everyone’s taste! Some of you thought that some of the lectures ought to cover less ground – but others found the breadth useful.

Suggestions for improvement: Some of you found aspects of the end of the first term a little repetitive. We have reviewed this and for next year will cut one of the sessions, expanding the seminar on witchcraft into its own slot (rather than bundling it up with popular culture). There were some comments about the multiplicity of platforms we use: we are actively investigating moving the sitebuilder pages to Moodle in readiness for next year. Some of you would like more on the Eighteenth Century – this again is something we are reviewing for next year.
