Navigation Sidebar
INSTRUCTIONS FOR NAVIGATION SIDEBAR
Explanation
Each page should be created individually, but they will all link to this right hand column (see below). This means that only one navigation bar will need to be edited for the entire handbook, and this one has been designed to use as little coding as possible. SiteBuilder currently only allows an extra column to be created on the right hand side, so in this case the column/sidebar itself contains a very small amount of code that swaps the column to the left.
How to use (when creating a new page)
When creating a new page, link the right hand column to wherever the nav bar is hosted (in this case it's /fac/arts/history/intranet/sandbox/nick/handbook/nav, but that will change for the front-facing pages):
1. Under the 'Edit' menu select 'Edit page properties'

2. Locate and expand Advanced Properties

3. Under 'Special right hand side' select 'Use RHS of another page'. The source page should be where the right hand column is stored - for example, this page.

How to edit
If the nav bar ever needs to be edited, under the 'Edit' menu for this page select 'Edit the right hand column. Note that the nav bar will be stored elsewhere when the pages go live (i.e. not in this testing section of the intranet).
