Modules available for Visiting Students provided by the School of Modern Languages and Cultures 2026-27 - pending final confirmation

Please complete the module preferences form here if you are based in the SMLC to indicate the modules you would like to take. Please note that the modules listed may be subject to change and some modules are operating with very limited spaces available.

Students based outside of the SMLC, e.g. in English, History, etc., who are interested in taking a module listed below should complete the form here to register their interest.

Modules do not require a proficiency in the given language unless otherwise stated.

There is no guarantee that any modules listed below will run in future years.

German Studies Modules

Term One, September-December (15 CATS/7.5 ECTS)

Note: GE343 is available only to native German speakers

Hispanic Studies Modules

Note: HP209 is available only to native Spanish speakers and is not available to students based outside the SMLC

Translation and Transcultural Studies Modules

Full Year, September-June (30 CATS/15 ECTS)

Term One, September-December (15 CATS/7.5 ECTS)

Note: LN313 is not available to students based outside the SMLC

Language modules

Language modules should be done through the Language Centre (i.e. modules with the code 'LL'). You can consult the list of Language Centre modules here

Modules from other departments

We can only offer spaces on modules that are provided by the School of Modern Languages and Cultures. If you wish to take modules from other departments, then you will need to contact those departments directly.
