Applications for the Spring Term UG Sprint programme starting in March 2022 are now open to all current female UG students.

What is Sprint? Sprint is an immersive female personal development programme for students delivered via 7 online sessions.

Designed by The Springboard ConsultancyLink opens in a new window in conjunction with Oxford and Cambridge universities, in part to help address the gender pay gap imbalance, Sprint is designed to equip students with the skills required to enable them to accelerate their potential in all areas of life including academic, personal and career as well as developing a positive mind-set.

We are sorry to learn that Liliana Odjo, who studied Spanish with us in the Language Centre has died and we are thinking of her friends and family at this difficult time. Warwick is hosting some global online seminars (Jan-April 2022) exploring how the film and TV industries in Miami, Reykjavik, Cornwall and Venice are connected to a watery sense of place, water pollution, water scarcity and water cultures.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Simon Gaunt, a world-leading scholar and Warwick Languages graduate.

Head of School and Professor of French Kate Astbury and her PhD student Abigail Coppins welcomed a delegation of Garifuna people to Portchester Castle on Wednesday 8th September 2021 to show them the fruits of Abigail's research into the prisoners of war from the Caribbean held their during the Revolutionary wars. We are looking forward to welcoming you to Warwick. This is just to let you know that there's no need to panic that you've not yet had details of module choices etc. We will explain the module choice and registration process to you in the visiting student welcome meeting in Welcome week, so the most important thing for now is that you attend that meeting in order to understand the process.

As that page explains, after the meeting we will send you a module request form by email which you will need to fill in and return, after having consulted the relevant pages on the SMLC website where we list which modules have spaces (for SMLC modules) and contacting departmental administrators for external depts. to get the same information if you want to study any modules outside of SMLC.

Everything will become much clearer once you've attended that first meeting!

The UK Government has announced today (4 August 2021) that the University of Warwick will be awarded £2.6 million for international student mobility, as part of the inaugural Turing Scheme.

Window on Teaching: A Flexible Virtual Space to Build & Explore (16 July, 14:00-15:00)

You are invited to join Chloe Agg (School of Engineering) next Friday afternoon for an exciting (and fun!) tour and discussion of the flexible, virtual space she created for the Warwick Design Showcase in Gather.town.

This will be an introductory exploration of Gather.town, and the possibilities it offers for virtual online learning and networking experiences.
