Congratulations to WATE Winners and all nominees
Many congratulations to all who have been recognised for their teaching via the recent WATE Awards.
Nancy Haijing Jiang and Michael Meeuwis were both short-listed and in the postgraduate group, Owain Burrell and Andy Irwin received a Commendation, and Elizabeth Sharrock was declared a winner.

'Screening Venice' Module Off to a Flying Start
Film and Television Studies at Warwick has recently introduced an innovative intensive on-site undergraduate module based in Venice. Screening Venice offers students the chance to engage with the past of Venice’s long screen history, today’s Venice Film Festival and the future water cultures of the wider lagoon.

Inaugural Eutopia Summer School on the history of violence in Dresden
The inaugural Eutopia Summer School on the history of violence is taking place at TU Dresden from 2-8 July 2023. The school is aimed primarily at undergraduates about to enter their final year of study and will enable exploration of themes such as:
- Historiography of Violence
- Gendered Violence
- Colonial Violence
- Violence in Political Discourse
- Representing Violence
- Drink-Related Violence
Born out of the longstanding relationship between Warwick and Dresden, the summer school is run by scholars from both institutions, providing students access to world-class research and teaching. An amazing opportunity and we wish them well this week!
