Arrival and Registration

The University is located on the outskirts of Coventry. If driving, the University can be reached from the M6, the M1/M45, the M40and the M42, and then following the signs from both the A45 and the A46. If using GPS, the postcode CV4 7AL can be used for directions.

The closest coach and train destination is Coventry. Once alighting, ask for the local bus no. 12 (Travel Coventry), which takes about half an hour to reach campus. A faster option is to take a taxi, which takes about 15 minutes and costs about 6 or 7 pounds.

If you plan to check-in to your room first, head to the Rootes Social Building, where you will find the Conference Reception. If driving, you can park briefly in car park 5 or 4. If arriving by bus, alight at the main bus stop on campus, opposite the Arts Centre. You can check in to get your room key until 11pm.

If coming directly to the conference, the venue is the Mathematics Building, and the most convenient parking is at car parks 8 or 9, which are free during the period of the conference. If arriving by bus, ask the driver to let you off near the Library Road. If coming by taxi, ask the driver to drop you close to car park 15.

Accommodation

Most of conference attenders will be staying on campus at residence halls. The main halls are Jack Martin Hall and Arthur Vick Hall. Rooms are allocated at Conferences Reception at the main Rootes Social Building. (Please be aware this is not the same as Rootes Residencies, which is further from the Arts Centre.) Delegates who have booked a room will be given an en-suite room with all bedding at tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast is also included, and for this you will need to get back to the Rootes Building.

Internet Access

Resident delegates can access internet in the bedrooms. They will need to bring along an Ethernet cable to enable them to do so. Residents will also be able to get wireless connection at hotspots located around campus, which however does not extend to the rooms.

All delegates will have access to the Internet via computers located in a room opposite the main lecture room.

Tuesday the 9th

While the conference doesn't start until Wednesday morning, several people will be arriving on Tuesday. Conference registration will be possible at the Rootes Building between 4 and 7pm. (Accommodation registration is between 3pm and 11pm.) The options for evening meals include Bar Fusion, in the Rootes Building itself, or the local pub The Graduate. A few of us from the Organizing Committee will be heading to Bar Fusion at 7pm and you are welcome to join us.

Wednesday the 10th

The conference will be held in the Maths building on campus. The registration desk will be open from 9am and the welcome talk will start at 9:40am. We suggest people who haven't checked in to accomodation the night before to come here directly as check-in is only after 3pm.

A simple buffet lunch will be held next door in the Computer Science building. In the evening, we have organised a hot buffet and a quiz night at the Tempo Lounge of the Student Union. There will be an open bar.

Thursday the 11th

After a full day of talks, there will be a chance to refresh ourselves before boarding a coach at 6:45 to go to Warwick Castle (about 10 miles away) for the conference banquet. The coach will bring us back to campus at 11pm.

Friday the 12th

The talks finish at 1pm at which point sandwiches will be available for a quick lunch. At 2pm we have a business meeting open to all.
