Year 12 Discovery Event
Year 12 Discovery Days are an amazing opportunity for year 12 students from across the country to learn more about some of the subjects at Warwick and also to experience first-hand what a lecture/seminar could feel like. During this event Dr James Archbold (Senior Teaching Fellow) gave a 30 minute pre-recorded introduction to programming and took part in a virtual, live, interactive session.
International Women and Girls in Science Day
PhD students, Natalie Rothwell and Mahshid Mehr Nazhad took part in this event aimed at inspiring young women to think about STEM options in education and as potential careers.
This week we have been working with the School of Engineering to deliver activities as part of the Warwick Sutton Trust Summer School. During the week, we have looked at a wide range of applications of computing and engineering, including intelligent vehicles, biomedical engineering and smart sensors. Activities were part of a larger Summer School, details can be found at https://warwick.ac.uk/study/outreach/whatweoffer/summer-schools/wstssonline2020
Slice of Science for International Women’s Day
To celebrate British Science Week and mark International Womens’ Day, we joined other Warwick researchers and students in hosting A Slice of Science, offering the public the chance to enjoy a whole range of activities, demonstrations and talks which showcase Warwick’s research in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.
