SLS Pump priming FundLink opens in a new window

Deadline: 27 February, 12:00pm

The SLS Pump Priming Fund provides short-term funding to develop and strengthen research grant applications; for example, through the generation of preliminary data.

Applicants need to demonstrate that there is a clear plan for the future application(s) and what the added value of a Pump Priming Award will be in increasing the competitiveness of the future application(s).

BBSRC Flexible Talent Mobility Account (FTMA)Link opens in a new window

Deadline: 2 March 2026

FTMA funding is available to researchers at the Universities of Warwick and Birmingham until March 2027. The FTMA supports the mobility and external visibility of researchers working in BBSRC remit areas. Applications are particularly welcome from postdoctoral researchers and technicians.

Applications are now open for the following schemes:

  1. Inward or Outward Policy/Industry Secondments– Up to 20K

  2. Technician and Postdoctoral FTMA Fellowships– Up to 15K

  3. International Exchanges- Up to 15K

The Philip Leverhulme Prizes 2026Link opens in a new window(Information leaflet attached)

The Philip Leverhulme Prizes aims to support researchers at an early stage of their careers whose work has had international impact and whose future research career is exceptionally promising. Awards may be used for any research purpose. Each prize is worth £100,000 and the funding is available over 2 to 3 years. Please note the scheme doesNOTprovide funding for capital equipment / augmentation of the winner’s salary / overheads.

The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Digital Research Infrastructure Pool: Supporting Technical Review, Insight, Knowledge and Evaluation (STRIKE) is a newly established group.

The group provides independent, high-quality technical insight and advice to both the UKRI Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) Programme team and the UKRI Digital Research Infrastructure Committee (DRIC).

As a STRIKE member, you will draw on your expertise to help ensure the technical feasibility and robustness of the UKRI DRI Programme’s plans and investments.

This project,The Transitional Space of Academia: Liminal Identities of Early Career Researchersis funded by Research England Enhancing Research Culture Fund. It explores how early career researchers navigate the transitional and often uncertain spaces of academic life.

We warmly welcome all Warwick-based research-active staff who have passed their viva and self-identify as ECRs, regardless of contract type (including permanent, fixed-term, open-ended, teaching-focused, research-only, fractional, or fellowship-based roles).

The workshop will usecreative and reflective methods, including storyboarding and visual narrative mapping, followed by focus group discussions. No prior experience with creative methods is required.Register here.Link opens in a new window

Horizon EuropeLink opens in a new window is the world’s largest Research and Innovation funding programme, providing over €95.5Bn between 2021 and 2027.

This one-hour webinar is purposefully designed to help those with no or low recent knowledge about Horizon Europe gain an understanding of the opportunities it offers, and the basics about how to explore these opportunities further for yourself.

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships trainingLink opens in a new window

Deadline to apply: Friday 8 May at 12pm.

This training will teach writing a competitive MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships proposal and will be delivered through an e-learning platform (MSCA Academy) including video lectures, two interactive online group work exercises and a final interactive online wrap-up session. There will also be opportunities to ask questions.
