First meeting of the EUVRIN IPM WG

Proeftuin Zwaagdijk have very kindly offered to host the first meeting of the IPM WG in the Netherlands.

The programme is as follows:

Tuesday, 26th September 10.00 - 16.00 - meeting of the IPM Working Group. The aim of the meeting is to introduce ourselves and our organisations and discuss how, and in which areas, we would like to collaborate in future. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Wednesday, 27th September - it will be possible to visit the seed company Open Days - Seed meets Technology

Travel

If you arrive by plane at Schipol Airport it is possible to buy a train ticket to the station ‘Hoogkarspel’ (there is a special counter for train tickets). The train departs from Schiphol (the train station is underground) and it’s a direct connection (towards Enkhuizen). It’s 1 hour and 10 minutes and costs are around €15-20 p.p. When in Hoogkarspel, it’s only 8-10 minutes with the taxi to the meeting at Proeftuin Zwaagdijk (walking is not an option, too long). You can call taxi Kaijer (+31 0228 583 000) or taxi West-Friesland (0228 512 500) when you’re in the train. Call in time (directly when you’re in the train) because it’s a busy week for them with all the open days from seed companies. If you want to go to your hotel first, take the same train, but leave the train at station ‘Hoorn’. It’s 5-10 minutes with a taxi to the hotel. Taxis are in front of the station.

You can also travel directly by taxi from Schiphol, but costs will be higher (cheaper if you are with more persons in one taxi of course, you can split). It’s a 45 minute drive and taxis are in front of the airport.

If people are coming by car, they can drive towards Amsterdam to the A7, then exit at ‘Hoorn-Noord’. Then follow N302 until you see the sign ‘Zwaagdijk-Oost’ on your left, there will be flags next to the road and a banner with ‘Seed meets Technology’. The address is: Tolweg 13, Zwaagdijk.

Hotels

Proeftuin Zwaagdijk recommend the Hotel Van der Valk Hoorn which is 15 minutes from Seed meets Technology. At the moment they still have rooms available.
