We undertake field, glasshouse and laboratory trials on the control of a wide range of pest insects. The work is undertaken with funding from the Horticultural Development Company, Horticulture LINK scheme, Technology Strategy Board and agrochemical companies.

We are currently evaluating insecticides and biopesticides in field vegetable crops as part the SCEPTRE project. Target pests include aphids on lettuce, brassica and carrot, thrips on leek and cabbage root fly.
