DV2 is a widefield deconvolution microscope from Applied Precision Instruments (API). DV2 is optimised for live-cell, multi-colour fluorescence experiments and is particularly suited to overnight timelapse imaging of cells and sub-cellular components. The image acquisition software (softWoRx) has deconvolution functionality which can be deployed to increase contrast and resolution and improve optical sectioning.

Figure 1. Optical performance monitoring by measuring the width of sub-resolution fluorescent beads. The Rayleigh limit is defined here as the distance between the central peak and the first minimum. Measured for n = 5 beads in x (red), y (blue) and z (green) axes.
Figure 2. Monthly measurement of the fluorescence LED illumination power output at the microscope back aperture. "Wavelength (nm)" is the wavelength at which power is measured.
