"I’m Eleanor Hoverd, a health researcher and research nurse. I work in Coventry and the surrounding West Midlands region helping GP practices to set-up and run health research studies and also work with the health researchers at the Unit of Academic Primary Care . Some of their work includes improving hospice care, improving the safe discharge of older patients from hospital, finding new ways of helping carers to look after their relatives or friends, and women’s health. These are just a few examples of the many different areas the researchers are working on.
"The information on these pages has been put together with help from patients and members of the public that are interested in health research and want to raise awareness about opportunities for getting involved or taking part in health research.
"Patients and the public would like to hear more about the results of health research and so on these pages you can find short summaries of the results of local health research from Warwick Medical School. You can also find out information about how to get involved with specific health research studies.
"We are keen to make the information on these pages as accessible as possible and provide ways of sharing it in a way that meets the needs of our communities, so please contact me by email if you have any suggestions on how we can do this. You can find my email address by clicking on the Join Us! square on the homepage of the patient and public community hub.
"If you would like to be a volunteer as part of the patient public user group that helps to guide this hub, please also contact me by email to find out more, as we are keen to increase the diversity of our group to ensure it is representative of our local communities.
"Finally, I hope these pages are useful to you and please share with your friends, families and communities, and follow us on Twitter @PublicPpch"
