Lixian Shen
I am a first year PhD student in the Astronomy and Astrophysics group at the University of Warwick. My supervisors are Peter Wheatley and Dan Bayliss. My research focuses on transiting exoplanet systems identified in TESS and NGTS data, particularly those exhibiting transit timing variations (TTVs).
Research Interest:
I am interested in detecting and characterising TTV signals in transiting exoplanet systems, which can reveal additional planetary companions and provide valuable insights into planetary dynamical interactions, as well as the history of planet formation and migration.
I am currently focusing on photometric data processing of bright stars using NGTS observations, aiming to produce high-quality light curves for precise transit and TTV analysis.
Teaching:
I am a laboratory demonstrator for 2nd year undergraduate physics lab, where I mainly assist with an experiment measuring the radial velocity and colour temperature of the Sun using spectroscopic observations (PX283-A2 (25/26)).
