This world map contains weblinks to institutions where astronomy is either researched professionally and / or and taught in classrooms at the university level. Not included are stand-alone museums, planetariums, amateur astronomical societies, virtual institutes, nor observatories which do not fulfill this criteria. But those places would make for some useful maps too if somebody was ambitious and interested enough!

Click on each marker to access the weblink to the relevant institute. Some markers are very close to one another, so please zoom in. For institutes with astronomy-based teaching but not research, the links tend to point to specific courses or teachers.
