Excursion to Warwick Castle (Friday 8th September)
On the Friday following the conference, we ran a group excursion to Warwick Castle, a medieval castle developed from an original built by William the Conqueror in 1068 and one of the most recognisable examples of 14th century military architecture in the UK. Various Earls of Warwick played important roles in both the Wars of the Roses, and the English Civil War.
Travel to the castle was by minibus, meeting outside the Ramphal building at 09:30. Tickets were prebooked, and provided at registration. Tickets included a visit to the castle dungeons at 11:30 (optional).
