Mohammed Adbullahi

Mohammed Abdullahi is an early career academic having worked as an assistant lecturer in business strategy at Coventry University. He also has over 6 years experience as a HR business analyst having worked in a number of role in London and the Midlands. Mohammed has a BA in Business and human resource management and an MA in Human resource management from Coventry University.

Mohammed's doctoral study entitled 'What are the return propensities of Nigerian Medical Doctors in the UK?' will explore the lived experiences of Nigerian doctors in the UK throughout the migration process. A mixed method approach will be used to collect data from practising Nigerian doctors in the UK. In addition, interviews will be conducted with policy makers in Nigeria. Furthermore, to contextualise the findings, an analysis of Nigerian return migration policies will be appraised. The data analysis will aim to highlight the changes in the participants' perceptions of working in the UK and why they might wish to return. It is expected that the findings of the study will help in the understanding of return migration to Africa, and Nigeria specifically, which is an area where empirical findings are lacking. In addition, the current research seeks to contribute to the policy formulation by providing evidence through the lived experiences of Nigerian doctors in the UK.
