University of Warwick announces expert delegation to attend COP26

The University of Warwick has announced its delegation of 17 attending the global climate conference, COP26, in Glasgow in November. The university is one of a limited number of institutions to have been granted official observer status by the UN-led conference, which is being hosted by the UK.

Warwick researchers contribute to major climate change conference

Two Warwick researchers are presenting at this week’s Climate Exp0 online conference, organised by the COP26 Universities Network and the Italian University Network for Sustainable Development (RUS). The conference is part of the official All4Climate Pre-COP programme and aims to showcase international research with relevance to the issues to be tackled at the forthcoming COP26 UN Climate Change conference, taking place in Glasgow in November.


Virtual Green Week aims to collaborate with local community

Communities across Coventry and Warwickshire are being urged to make the fourth annual Green Week a launch-pad for sustainability. Green Week, which this year will take place between Monday 8th and Sunday 14th March 2021, originated from talks between the University of Warwick, Coventry City Council and Coventry University, and has since encompassed Warwick District Council and Action 21.


Identified: A mechanism that protects plant fertility from stress

As Temperatures rise due to global warming the need to protect plants from stressful conditions has increased, as stress can cause a loss in yield and cause further impact economically. A consortium led by the University of Warwick have successfully identified two proteins that protect crops from stress, which is key in safeguarding food production.
