Does eating fruit and veg help your mental health?

Increasing the amount of fruit and vegetables people eat lowers their risk of clinical depression, new research has found. The study discovered that eating extra portions of fruit and vegetables each day can boost mental health to such an extent that it can offset half the negative psychological impact of divorce and a quarter of the psychological damage of unemployment.

Universities of Warwick and Birmingham partner to boost West Midlands economy

University of Warwick research impact success recognised with continued funding from ESRC

The University of Warwick is one of 26 UK universities receiving funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for its Impact Acceleration Account (IAA). The funding award was announced today [31] by the ESRC and followed a competitive, peer-reviewed process.

 


Warwick students recognised as leaders in social mobility

Four Warwick students have been recognised as champions of social mobility at the inaugural Student Social Mobility Awards, hosted by Baroness Helena Kennedy in the House of Lords on December 13. The Awards were organised by upReach, supported by the Social Mobility Commission, to showcase the achievements of students and 2018 graduates from less advantaged backgrounds.


The University of Warwick and Turing collaborate to bring international summer fellowship opportunity to the UK

The 2019 edition of the Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) Summer Fellowship will feature a new international site in the UK - the University of Warwick, through a collaboration with The Alan Turing Institute and the UK’s national institute for data science and artificial intelligence. The seventh year of DSSG, taking place in Summer 2019 is now accepting applications for prospective fellows, technical mentors, project managers, and project partners.
