Mechanical ventilation a key indicator for Pre-Term Children’s maths problems

A new study, led by researchers at the University of Warwick in the UK and the Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany, and just published in the Journal Early Human Development, has found that both the length of time spent in hospital after birth and the use of mechanical ventilation are key indicators of reduced mathematical ability in preterm children.

Warwick mathematician awarded world’s most prestigious mathematics award

Professor Martin Hairer Regius Professor of Mathematics in the University of Warwick’s Mathematics Institute has been awarded the Fields Medal, the World’s most prestigious Mathematics award, for his “Outstanding contributions to the theory of stochastic partial differential equations, and in particular for the creation of a theory of regularity structures for such equations.”

Warwick rises to 89% overall student satisfaction in National Student Survey

Overall student satisfaction with the University of Warwick has risen to 89% in this year’s National Student Survey, which has just been published today Tuesday 12 August 2014. The University has also seen noteworthy increases in satisfaction in 5 of the 6 main category scores, including a 7% increase in satisfaction with Assessment and Feedback.
