Stitch In Time teacher training
We ran training sessions in 2021 for teachers participating in the Stitch in Time project for City of Culture. If you are interested in getting involved in another way in the future, register your interest below and we will let you know if further opportunities arise.
With Coventry City of Culture starting in May 2021, teachers are invited to sign up for an information and training session to learn more about running the Stitch In Time project with their year 5 or 6 class.
Read an overview of the learning involved in the Stitch In Time project here.
You can run the project, which can be taught in one day or spread out over five to six weeks, at any time between May 2021 and February 2022, culminating in the children's work being exhibited in April 2022. Teachers will be given training in delivery of the project, alongside a set of tutorial videos for improving their technical knowledge, and teaching and learning resources to use with their class.
To run this project with your class, you would ideally have access to enough computers, laptops or Chromebooks (or similar) for children to work in pairs. Tablets are not ideal but might be used, depending on the screen size - you will need to test the programming website on your tablets. We can advise on this, or after the training session you will have a good idea of what to test.
