Seeds of Hope & Action
On 28th November 2024, our Society & Culture and Sustainability Spotlights supported the Seeds of Hope and Action (SOHA) Exhibition, launched in the Faculty of Arts Building Atrium. Speakers included Justine Marchant (SGI-UK), Elena Korosteleva (IGSD, Sustainability Spotlight) and Mouzayian Khalil (PAIS, WICID), with a welcome from Vicki Squire (PAIS) and Emma Flynn (Provost).
'This is simply a wonderful opportunity for members of the spotlights and a wider research community to connect, discuss and engage with research-in-action and its various representations, such the Seeds of Hope exhibition. The latter captured the spirit of our research so accurately: it is not just about what we know; most tellingly - it is about what we do and what helps us to stay resilient in the face of adversity and crisis - our own agency! This exhibition has done just that - it has provoked us into further thinking and doing, and we are very grateful for that!', said Prof. Elena Korosteleva, Chair, Sustainability Spotlight and Director, IGSD at Warwick.
Colleagues and students enjoyed dialogue over the panels, which use the “Learn, Reflect, Empower, Lead” formula outlined in Daisaku Ikeda’s proposal on education for sustainable developmentLink opens in a new window. Co-created by Soka Gakkai International and the Earth Charter International, the exhibition features panels serving as a catalyst for positive change and a platform to move communities towards a more sustainable future.
Alongside the SOHA exhibition launch, IGSD also hosted a Climate Knowledge Production Café and a panel discussion followed by a writing workshop.
