Emily Walch
Emily Walch is currently the Executive Director for External Affairs at the British Bankers' Association, after spending three and a half years as a Senior Special Adviser to Dr Vince Cable, the former Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills. Prior to that, she was Senior Consultant at communications consultancy Blue Rubicon for four years. Earlier in her career she worked as Press Secretary to London Mayoral Candidate Brian Paddick (2007-8); Senior Press Officer for the Liberal Democrats in the London Assembly (2006-7); Head of Office for Sir Menzies Campbell, Leader of the Liberal Democrats (2005-6); Welsh Policy Adviser for the Liberal Democrats (2005). She began her career as a parliamentary researcher in 2003.
Emily holds an MPhil in European Studies from the University of Cambridge (2003) and a first class BA Hons in History of Art from the University of Warwick (2002). She is a Policy Fellow at the Centre for Science and Policy at the University of Cambridge and was on the board of the Government's Communications Service Review 2013-2014.
