Professor Cathia Jenainati
Professor Cathia Jenainati is currently seconded to the Vice- Chancellor’s office where she is leading on three strategic projects: she is the Academic Director for the new BA Liberal Arts degree to be launched in October 2016; she is also the Academic Director for the new BASc in Global Sustainable Development to be launched in October 2016; she is the Academic lead on the teaching strand for the California project.
Professor Jenainati has been at the University of Warwick since 2003. She is a professor of English and Comparative Literary Studies and her research interests have focussed on narratives of memory and amnesia and identity politics. She has taught and supervised research on European and North American Literature and Culture and has conducted funded research on the literature and culture of the Middle East. She is the recipient of 2 Teaching Excellence Awards.
Recently Professor Jenainati has focussed her attention on raising the profile of Sustainable Development as a focus for research and teaching at the University of Warwick. She has also been actively engaged in promoting Liberal Education nationally and internationally. She was invited to participate in a major funding bid with 7 European universities and was invited to the Global Dialogue on Liberal Arts and Education hosted by Harvard University in Shanghai, as a result of which she has established networks with a broad range of educational institutions.
