For some of us, our supervisor can be the first professional relationship we’ve had, and for most, certainly our first academic. This session on building successful practice will cover what you can expect from your supervisor, what is and is not your supervisors’ responsibility and what they can expect from you. It will provide hints on making the best out of your meetings, working efficiently and effectively. Whatever the stage of your PhD, it is worth making sure you know what you need to do to get your PhD at Warwick. We also support the Superb-Vision network, a peer led series of workshops. Your supervisor can be the most valuable resource you have during your Doctorate. A mentor and an advisor; help to manage your research project and keep on track; and a sounding board for your new ideas and thoughts. The list could go on...But key to success is knowing and understanding how to manage this relationship successfully.
