What I Do Here
I have worked at the Modern Records centre since 2018 leading on the long term preservation of digital archives collections. I develop policy, strategy and procedures in relation to digital preservation and work with depositors of material from the University and beyond. The goal is to work towards safeguarding the born digital collections in our care so that they remain accessible and reliable for the long term.
Professional Experience
I have over twenty years' experience in libraries and archives, in both a Local Authority and Higher Education context. Prior to my role at the University of Warwick I worked at Lancaster University supporting the long term preservation of research data.
I convene the Archivematica UK User Group as well as the Midlands Digital Preservation Network (MidiPres). I sit on the Archives and Records Association Legislation and Standards Working Group.
Research and Training
I am interested in supporting the development of digital preservations across the wider archival community of practice and am engaged in a number of outreach and advocacy networks.
I am committed to exploring ways of embedding environmental sustainability into both the preservation of digital archives and also into the way they are shared and used for research.
