The Asylum News, 1906

The Asylum Workers' Association (AWA) was founded in 1895. It was in competition with the National Asylum Workers' Union (NAWU), founded in 1910.

'The Asylum News' was the monthly members' journal of the AWA. It includes reports on union activities, asylum work and staff social / sporting events, lists of successful candidates for certificates in nursing issued by the Medico-Psychological Association of Great Britain and Ireland, medical articles, poems, lists of members (including a full list of all members in the issue for August 1906), obituaries and names of officers. An index is included at the front of volume.
