From thence they accompanied the body to London Road Station, from whence it was forwarded to Lincolnshire, the deceased's native county. Upwards of 1,000 men joined in the procession, of whom 640 were masons, the others being labourers and other tradesmen. The men walked in their working clothes, the masons wearing their aprons.
