Warwick Boar Exhibition

Our new exhibition, which runs until 23rd October, was conceived of in late 2025, after the completion of a digitisation project aimed at making all of the Modern Record Centre's copies of The Warwick Boar available online. It celebrates this achievement while also highlighting the paper's incredibly rich, diverse and fascinating nature.

First published on October 11th, 1973, The Warwick Boar has been the main student newspaper at the University of Warwick for the past 53 years. It has borne witness to the national student rent strike in the 1970s, the campaign for an independent Warwick Students' Union, and more recently, the Covid-19 pandemic.

While it has chronicled such major events, it has also preserved in its pages the everyday activities of student life.

Within this exhibition you will see the wide range of topics covered by The Warwick Boar, how it has evolved overtime, and the stories and events it has covered. Unable to visit? You can see all of the Warwick Boar digitised hereLink opens in a new windowLink opens in a new window.
