Things to think about

  • What story does this collection tell?

  • Did you create the material yourself or was it created or sent to you by someone else or downloaded from somewhere?

  • Do you own the copyright on the material?

  • Is any specialised software needed to open the material?

  • Is anything password protected?

  • Is there any sensitive or personal data about you or others included (eg email addresses, phone numbers, medical information etc).

  • How would another person (e.g. us!) find the information we were interested in and understand it?

Transferring material to the archives

There are various ways to transfer material to us but we do not recommend using email as this is not a secure method. Different methods are suitable for different types of material and size of the data. We'll talk to you about the best option for you once you are ready to transfer. Get in touch with us or phone to discuss the options.
