Vellum (Account Book) Binders' Trade Society

The Vellum (Account Book) Binders' Trade Society was founded in 1823, although an earlier society for vellum binders had existed for a time before that date. In 1911, it amalgamated with the Bookbinders and Machine Rulers' Consolidated Union, the Society of Day-working Bookbinders of London, Westminster, etc and the London Consolidated Society of Journeymen Bookbinders to form the National Union of Bookbinders and Machine Rulers.

Deceased members

The only source for the Society is the volume of annual reports (MSS.39/SO/V/4/1/1/1). The reports from 1891 to 1893 contain lists of deceased members, with name, age and cause of death.
