The Department for Education have this month announced the bursary rates for 18/19, for training FE teachers, with an updated bursary for English subject teachers. The financial incentive behind the bursary launch is to attract new high-quality graduates to become teachers in the FE sector.

From August 2018, Student Finance will also offer eligible part-time students maintenance loans to help cover living costs during their period of study.

Applications for student loans for part-time students who started in 2012 onwards, or who are starting this year, are now open at www.gov.uk/studentfinance.

Students who started pre-2012 and who are on the course and fee grant system will be able to apply from the end of June 2015.
